Marina
The Trout Valley Marina on the Fox River provides direct access for boating enthusiasts, whether using the community boat ramp or joining the Boat Club.
The marina complex is one of Trout Valleys valued amenities. The complex consists of a boat launch ramp and an adjacent pier plus a pier on the river front. These aspects of the complex are for the enjoyment of all members in good standing of the Association.
In 2019 after two years of planning, the entire complex was rehabilitated. The project was cooperative effort of the Association, the Village and the Boat Club each of which provided funding and over-site for the project. The scope of the rehabilitation included replacement of the launch ramp and adjacent pier. The launch ramp is a 30 foot long by twelve foot wide steel reinforced poured concrete slab. The pier is a 35 foot long steel and concrete structure with 3” x 12” treated wood and PVC protective edging. The marina was dredged to a depth of over 5 feet and expanded in length so that all 18 slips can accommodate the use of boat lifts. The pier poles were all replace by new 21’ steel poles that were pounded into the riverbed. The launch ramp and marina are supported by security lighting and electric at each slip. The construction techniques deployed should provide enjoyment to the community for decades to come.

- All slips on the Fox Waterway are governed by the Illinois Army Corp of Engineers. Presently, they are not issuing new certificates for river rights. The Trout Valley Home Owners Association has 18 certificates for use of the Fox River by its home owners. Additionally, the Trout Valley Marina is considered a commercial marina. What this means for Trout Valley is the only way to get additional river rights certificates are to purchase them from another commercial marina who is looking to sell them (such as an auction of a marina that is closing).
